Glen Allen Royal

Mr. Glen Allen Royal, age 56 of Jefferson, NC died on Monday, June 29, 2015 at his home. Mr. Royal was born on November 17, 1958 in Ashe County, NC to the late Victor Alonzo and Nancy Velma Osborne Royal. Mr. Royal took pride in his work as a roofer. He had a strong will, never giving up on anything. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his family.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. J. D. Walton. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Royal is survived by: Wife, Nina Medley Royal; Daughter, Lisa Dawn Royal Sawyer and husband Ray of Warrensville; Son, Josh Royal and wife Amanda of Jefferson; Brothers, Ray Shatley of Florida, Carl Shatley, Gene Royal, Victor Royal, and David Royal, all of West Jefferson, Larry Shatley of Sparta, Robert Royal of Wilkesboro; Sisters, Lib Walton of Crumpler, Sarah Severt and Mary Houck, both of West Jefferson, Betty Dollar of Jefferson; also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 1 expected great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
