Gary W. Colvard

Gary W. Colvard age 56 of Crumpler, died on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Colvard was born in Ashe County on December 15, 1958 to the late Neal Dixon and Alma Seagle Colvard. Gary was an avid hunter, a lifetime member of the Ashe County Wildlife Club and enjoyed coaching youth baseball in Ashe County. He was looking forward to the birth of his grandson, Everett in January. In Gary's own words the most important things to him were "family, friends, sports, outdoors and faith."

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Lonnie Jones and Elder James McNeill. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Colvard is survived by, his wife, Evelyn Lewis Colvard, three sons, Travis Stewart & wife Alison of Clifton, Adam Stewart & wife Emily of Creston, Brandon Stewart of Crumpler, one sister, Lisa Colvard of Crumpler, one granddaughter, Skylar Stewart, a man Gary considered a brother, Robert Dishman, one uncle Albert D. Seagle & wife Ola Mae of Hickory. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.
