Mr. Dewey Lee Wallace, age 79 of Lansing died on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at his home. Mr. Wallace was born on March 14, 1937 in Ashe County, NC to Carl and Maggie Pennington Wallace. Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, David Wallace and Ivan Wallace, and a sister, Pauline Wallace. Mr. Wallace was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and dancing. He was a hard worker and retired from Thomasville Furniture. He was well liked and a friend to anyone.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 12:00 pm by Rev. Lloyd Day. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Wallace is survived by: Son, Randy Wallace of Lansing, Daughter, Rita (Justin) Testerman of Lansing, Daughter, Greta (Ivan) Shaver of Grassy Creek, Sister, Ruby Katherine Miller of Crumpler, Grandchildren, Lisa (Tim) Sturgill, Johnathan Wallace, Matthew Wallace, Jarrett (Elizabeth) Pennington, and Randal (Rickie) Pennington, Special Nephew, Tony Wallace; also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be appreciated, or memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
