Dallas Arthur Shatley

Mr. Dallas Arthur Shatley, age 62 of Crumpler, NC died on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Shatley was born on April 17, 1953 in Ashe County, NC to Arthur Reeves and Nellie Lambert Shatley. Mr. Shatley was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Larry Joe Shatley and Mark Shatley. Dallas loved to spend time with his family, his many friends, and his daily companion, Murphy the dog. He enjoyed fishing, politics, and agriculture. He was a hard worker who spent his life raising Fraser Fir Christmas trees & burley tobacco and looking after his cattle. Dallas never met a stranger and got joy from helping others whenever he could.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Joe Riley Blevins, Rev. William Greer, and Rev. Harry Osborne. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Shatley is survived by: Wife, Della Greer Shatley, Daughter, Misty Shatley and husband Wesley of Jefferson, Daughter, Tiffany Shatley and boyfriend Jesse Richardson of West Jefferson, Stepdaughter, Ashley Toliver and husband Jacob of Todd, Stepdaughter, Tabatha Black and husband Carlos of Fleetwood. Two grandchildren, Bryan Bowlin and Emily Toliver, also survive.
